Welcome to Purple Lotus Counseling. I get the question, "Why Purple Lotus," a lot, so I thought I would write a post about why I chose this beautiful flower to represent my mental health practice. The lotus seed starts it's journey in the bottom of pond in the mud. As it begins to grow it reaches through the mud, the water and weeds to the water's surface. Once there, it blooms with radiance, warmed by the sun and eager to be admired.
In my experience, personally and as a therapist, life can feel like we are stuck in the mud. Following trauma, that mud can feel a million feet deep. However, with help, support, encouragement and hard work, the path towards healing and growth is available. I am not saying that this path is easy! Nor am I saying the journey is quick, but it is doable.
My goal for my clients is to walk along side them on this path towards healing so that they can learn what blooming looks like for them.
Remember, let go of what is no longer serving you, so that you too may radiate into the world.
